BREAKFAST CLUB
St Marks has a very successful Breakfast Club, our aim is to give every child participating in the Breakfast Club a healthy and safe start to their school day.
As a Healthy School we aim to have a variety of different foods and drinks for the children to choose from.
What do we have to eat?
Every day there will be toast, cereals (not sugar coated), fruit juices, milk, water, a variety of spreads, yogurts and fresh fruit.
Now and again we will give the children a choice of pancakes, cheese pitta, scones, bagels and crumpets. A hot breakfast of porridge, baked beans or sausage/bacon sandwiches are also available. We always encourage the children to eat fresh fruit every morning by using a stamp reward system with a prize once the card is completed.
After breakfast teeth are cleaned every morning under supervision.
How...when...what!
How much does it cost? We charge £1.50 a day and £1.00 three times a year for a toothbrush and toothpaste.
When does it run? The Club opens at 8 am and finishes at 8.55 when the children go into their classrooms.
Can I just turn up in the morning? No we have limited spaces so if you require your children to use the club you must book them in before the day required. This is done by contacting Kate Lucas via the main office.
Here are just some of the children’s views on using the Breakfast Club...
"I like brushing my teeth and the food is yummy!"
"Thumbs up! I like the food."
"It’s great, I love playing games my favourite is North, South, East or West."
"I like breakfast club it’s funny because the people who run the club wear blue tabards and it’s hilarious it makes us laugh."
