Basketball
At 4PM on Wednesday the 12th of March, YR5 and YR6 took place in a basketball rally at Bennett Memorial. At 4.15 Aimy, Kye, Harry, Annabel and James took part in the first torment, we played St Augustans B team. Unfortunately we lost buy 5 -0 but every body played really well. Our next play was at 4.33 we played against St Johns a team in that match Rowena, Larry, Kye, Georgina and Jack played we lost 2-0. We had to wait a while before our next match. At 5.18 we played against Rusthall. Aimy, Harry, Larry, Annabel and James put up a good fight but sadly lost 1-0. Our final match was against St James 5.36 again we played extremely well but Rowena, Georgina, Jack, Kye and Harry 1-0. The final took place between St James and St Johns. they drew and had to take penalty shots St Johns won with one shot in it.
Footballing highs...
On 15 March 2008 St Marks played in a football tournament at Hawkenbury Astroturf. Our first game was against Speldhurst – we drew 0-0Our next game was against Sherwood Park 0-0
Then it was Brenchley and Matfield 1-0 to us . Harry scored
We then played Bishops Down 0-0
St Peters 3-0 Matt 1 Kai 2
Paddock Wood 4-0 Matt 1 Jack 2 and Kai 1
We were second in the league and didn’t let in any goals.
Netball Tournament
On Saturday March 29th St. Mark’s took a team to the netball tournament at Tunbridge Wells High School. First of all, Charlie and Sophie did the goal shooting competition. After that our first match was against St. Peter’s, we played very well, but sadly we lost 2-0. On our second match we played Horsmonden, again we played our hardest but unfortunately we lost 4-0. In our third match we played St, James’. Charlie scored a goal. The score turned out to be 5-1 to St. James. Our next match was against St John’s we played extremely well and Beth scored. The final score was 1 all, our first draw. Our final match was against Pembury. Charlie scored a well deserved goal. The final score was 6-1 to St. John’s. Thank you Mrs. Goodfellow for organising for us to play in this netball tournament, and thank you to Mrs Saunders and Mrs Eva for coaching us. Overall, we came 12th out of the 14 participating schools and 10th in the shooting competition. Well done everyone!
