Key Stage 1 and 2 SAT results

I am delighted to be able to inform you that our SAT results for both KS1 and KS 2 this year show further improvements in our school’s performance.

At Key Stage 1 (Year 2) the results were substantially better than last year – in some cases almost doubling our success rate!

At Key Stage 2 (Year 6) the results are also very impressive. The graph below shows the improvement in CVA (Contextual Value Added) scores over the last four years. This is a measure of the improvement that our children have made between KS1 and KS2 compared with other schools. Although this year’s score is still provisional it places us at about 75 – in the top quarter of schools for adding value.

This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work of all the teachers, teaching assistants, parents and children. Well done and thank you to everyone!

Attendance

I am pleased to say that the average school attendance for this year is 95.5% which is above our target.

Staff leaving

As you will know Miss Cunningham and Miss MacDonald will be leaving at the end of term. I am sure you will wish to join me in thanking them both for their hard work with the children this year and we wish them both well in their next positions.

Staff Joining

I am very please to say that we have appointed two new and experienced teachers for next year.

Mrs Saunders will be working on Thursdays and Fridays in Reception and will be sharing responsibility for the class with Mrs Crane who is returning after the birth of Finlay.

Miss Brain will also be joining the teaching team and will be taking our Year 1 class. Next year’s Yr 1 class were able to meet her last Friday.
